G'Day from Steve

Image

Without a Vision the people perish.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit”, says the Lord Zechariah  4:6

You have to drive a long long way to take a picture like this.... It is way out in the middle of nowhere in outback Queensland. Without a few strategic signposts along the way you would get lost in no time at all.... and be even harder to find.... for even longer. That's just the way it is in Outback Australia.

Just over a week ago the nation of Australia held a federal election. The people went to the polling booths on voting day to cast their votes. The sad reality is the nation is divided. We are a nation that no longer knows what we believe... therefore we flounder in a void of indecision and indifference. We have lost our way. As you read this Australia is without legitimate leadership.

The Bible records many times that God's people hardened their hearts against Him and found themselves in a wilderness. So it is nothing new to be lost without good leadership and clear signs of the way ahead. We simply need to get back to basics. Even s a team traveling on the road around Australia, we recognise the importance of starting every day before the Lord. Waiting on him and expecting Him to lead us every day. We need Jesus. We need God's word. We need the intervention of His Holy Spirit in all we do.

"Obey my voice, and I will be your God and you shall be my people, and walk in all the ways that I command you" Jeremiah. 7:23

Thanks again for your prayers. Nearly a month into the Heritage Tour and we are going strong. Thanks for your partnership.

Godspeed,

Steve

Night after Night

If evangelism and music ministry in Australia was an easy and lucrative way to make a living.... many would be doing it. But the reality is there are hardly any ministries out on the road doing itinerant evangelism. Please pray about supporting the work we are doing. Our entire team have taken major steps of faith to take part in the Heritage National Tour. The concerts are free to the public as we want to reach every person in every town with the good news. The budget for the tour is huge.... but we have faith to believe the Father will continue to meet every need.

People are coming to faith in Christ at nearly every meeting. So far we have seen over 150 decisions for Christ. We are believing for more!!

You can be a vital part of the ministry... Pray - Give - Go

Three significant ways you can partner with us in this work. Join us in the cause.

YWAM Townsville concert

Pictured: Townsville concert. The band in action.

This past weekend we have literally ministered to thousands of people in the Townsville and Cairns regions. 3 concerts, 2 churches and 2 schools. The team has worked extremely hard and yet we have seen the Lord move in many people's lives. We have seen genuine decisions for Christ and many more inspired to get involved with missions. It has been so exciting to see the response form many people. Our concert in Townsville attracted a good crowd at the YWAM Reef to Outback base in Townsville. The concerts in Cairns at the Civic Theatre and Freshwater Church also saw hundreds of people attending. Thanks for your prayers.

Thanks Vision Radio Network/UCB

We want to thank "Robbo" and his Dad Len for joining up with us for a few concerts in the past week. We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of Vision and also the many listeners across the country who are attending the events, especially in remote country towns where Christian radio is for many their only constant source of teaching and music. Andrew " Robbo" has been the breakfast announcer for 9 years and has been a mighty advocate to our ministry and many others. Thanks mate.

Life on the Road

Image

Pictured: Some of the tour vehicles out on the road in Outback Queensland.

It is hard to explain to people what life on the road is like. We do concerts in 5 towns per week plus ministry in schools and churches etc. The schedule is packed with every opportunity possible to serve local churches in every town we visit. The travel days can be long. The team have been camping out in church halls, sleeping in swags and usually taking short showers in the only one available. This is not five star yuppy evangelism with approved budgets up front... this is grass roots evangelism that reaches ordinary people in places none of the big ministries or churches would bother going to. That's what makes this work special. It is low profile Kingdom of God ministry.. reaching people that live a long way from the comforts of commercial Christianity and motivational messages. If your word is not genuine out here the locals will let you know real quick.

Thanks again for your support of our work. The team are very weary at the moment. A rest day today will help to revive and energise. But we do cherish your prayers and support.

A new home on the road

Image

Pictured: The Missions Expo tour van and recently added caravan in tow. Corfield - Outback Queensland.

Andrew and Jess Dyer were greatly blessed last week with a generous offer from some great friends in Maryborough QLD. The offer of a camper van for the tour. We praise the Lord for the provision of this extra accommodation on wheels as it will be so useful during the coming months. It is actually a beautiful late model Windsor caravan which is for sale. We believe it would be a great asset to the ministry and we will have an option to buy it once the tour is complete. Thanks for your prayers for the welfare of the team. God is so faithful in knowing our needs.

Roadside Repairs

Image

Pictured: Some roadside radiator repairs near Townsville.

Australian roads seem to have a way of testing every vehicle we have traveling on the tour. Thanks for your prayers for the team as we travel.
The coming weeks will see temperatures rise as we head across the North QLD Channel country and into the central deserts. Long distances between towns and roads used by cattle trucks and road trains. We'll be doing our best to keep all vehicles in good condition as breakdowns "out there" can be very costly and time consuming.

We feel very responsible as we have borrowed some of the key vehicles. We appreciate your regular prayers support as we travel. Thanks.

Removing Teeth

Image

Pictured: Digby in Hughendon, Queensland.

Our good friend Digby Ho Leong did not inform us when he arrived from PNG for the tour that he was suffering great pain from two badly infected teeth. He was determined to take antibiotics and hope that the pain would go away. But by last Thursday we knew he was struggling with the pain. A visit to a dentist in Townsville the next morning confirmed the best scenario was the removal of both teeth immediately. Within a day the pain had subsided and he is now fully recovered minus teeth.

Thanks to those who responded with financial assistance towards the unexpected bill. We are grateful. Thanks also to those helping to support Digby's family back in PNG. It all helps!!

We are constantly encouraged by some amazing letters in the mail from people who have been blessed by the ministry. As many of you pray regularly for our work we wanted you to also partner in the blessing of these letters. Thank you to each of you who take the time to communicate with us about what God is doing in your life. We really are encouraged by your words.
